The article discusses various aspects of for-profit medical schools in America as of 2017, and it mentions the accreditation history of these institutions, as well as the potential contributions that for-profit schools might make to medical education in the U.S. The 1910 "Medical Education in the United States and Canada: A Report to the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching" by A. Flexner is examined, along with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
