- Abstract
The article discusses a study that examined details of sedentary behavior among older women. Characteristics considered include age, body mass index, and smoking status. The subjects wore an accelerometer for 7 days during waking hours. Findings show that older women spend about two-thirds of waking time in sedentary behavior, most of which occurred in bouts lasting less than 30 minutes.
