- Abstract
Ana Belén Martínez García's book, "New Forms of Self-Narration: Young Women, Life Writing and Human Rights," explores the narratives of six young women activists from the Global South who have used various forms of self-representation to advocate for human rights. The book analyzes their life writing projects, both online and offline, and examines the complexities of their narratives as they negotiate their individual and collective identities. The activists discussed include Malala Yousafzai, Hyeonseo Lee, Yeonmi Park, Bana Alabed, Nujeen Mustafa, and Nadia Murad. The book offers a thought-provoking analysis of the different life narratives constructed by these global rights advocates.
