Obituary Dr James Falconer Wood.
- Abstract
Dr. James Falconer Wood, a respected psychiatrist, passed away at the age of 87 after a prolonged illness. He was born in Banff, Scotland, and studied medicine at the University of Aberdeen. Dr. Wood played a significant role in establishing the School of Mental Health in Uganda and helped set up the world's first traveling mental health clinic. He later relocated to Australia due to political tensions in Uganda and worked as a senior psychiatrist at Wolston Park Hospital. Dr. Wood retired in 2007 and is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in his honor.
