- Abstract
The article offers information on the fine needle aspiration (FNA) and fine needle non-aspiration (FNNA) biopsy techniques for the cytodiagnosis of thyroid nodules. As mentioned, the benign disease does not require a surgery and evaluation of standard amount of follicular cells can avoid unnecessary surgery and additional costs of treatment. As stated, the research shows that FNA can be used for initial evaluation of disease but FNNA is a better and less challenging technique.
