- Abstract
The article discusses a British voyage to Jamaica in 1725 on the sailing vessel "Rose Gallery" and includes a transcript excerpted from a journal manuscript of a Scottish ship's surgeon titled "A Journal of a Voyage by Gods Permission on board the Rose Gally, Robert Toll Commander, bound from London to the Island of Jamaica.” An overview of the ship's docking in Port Royal, Jamaica, including the ship's passengers' conducting of trade in the port, is provided.
