- Abstract
The article focuses on the cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) as a model of sepsis in the rat to test whether they could reverse the cognitive impairments associated with sepsis. The CLP model is developed to induce sepsis in rodents compared to the previous techniques, which relied mostly on injecting purified bacteria or their toxins into rodents. In a study, it was showed that the kidney disease worsened the sepsis severity and sepsis-induced organ damage seen in the mice.
