- Abstract
The article discusses pregnancy outcomes in patients with congenital erythrocytosis. It states erythrocytis as an increase of red cell mass above normal range and cites factors causing the disease like defect in erythroid compartment, mutations in the oxygen sensing pathway and hypoxia. It cites that mutation of VHL gene associated with oxygen sensing is a significant factor causing congenital erythrocytosis and notes that patients with erythrocytosis can have normal pregnancies.
