- Title
Adjunct primer for the use of national comprehensive cancer network guidelines for the surgical management of cutaneous malignant melanoma patients.
- Abstract
The article presents a study analyzing the effect of melanoma patterns of care by the Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale, Arizona. As mentioned, a Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) survey was conducted on cutaneous malignant melanoma patients. It mentions that the result showed an adherence to the U.S. National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) therapeutic resection margins in less than 36 percent of patients. It concludes that thin malignant melanoma is curable whereas thick or node positive melanoma is often incurable.
