- Abstract
The article discusses appellate waivers and errors involving Rule 11(b)(1)(N) of the U.S. Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure which deals with the advisements and questions that a judge must include in his or her determination that a defendant is entering a valid guilty plea. The U.S. Supreme Court case United States v. Dominguez Benitez, which deals with a guilty plea-related objective standard of review, is assessed. Voluntariness and an intelligence inquiry are assessed.
