- Abstract
The author discusses the establishment of the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) by the National Health Reform Agreement (NHRA) in Australia. He mentions that the IHPA has widely consulted with the state and federal governments and other stakeholders to enforce a consistent approach to activity-based funding. He states that evidence-based evaluation will make a more transparent and accurate funding system in turn will drive quality and offer better value for public money.
