Abstract
The article discusses the staff decision on the closure of beds at the Chisholm Ross Centre, the Goulbourn mental health branch of the New South Wales Nurses and Midwives' Association (NSWNMA). Topics discussed include critical shortage of nurses at the centre, failure of the centre to conform to the nurse-to-patient ratio as mandated in the Nurses' State Award, and risks to health and life posed by staffing crisis on nurses and staff members.
