- Abstract
The article discusses the legal considerations that health care professionals need to keep in mind while taking care of individuals with diabetes. The legal issues relating to diabetes as per the legal systems prevalent in England and Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland are described. Several cases highlighting the legal implications of care for individuals with diabetes and their consequences for health care professionals are included. Nurses need to know the law in order to provide advice.
