Model Program: The British Schools of America.
- Abstract
The article presents the example of the British Schools of America in Washington, D.C., as an institution that offers a curriculum that equips students with skills for lifelong learning. The author looks at its design and technology courses, which teach children how to analyze and engineer products among other things. Focus is also given to courses offered at the high school level, which delve into resistant-material product design. The author believes design and technology should be central to school curricula because they bring together artistic and scientific disciplines.
