- Abstract
The article presents information on practical suggestions and helpful information for the technology education teachers which will help them in providing students with interesting and relevant information. A technological education program consists of a series of courses that address standards and challenges the technology education teacher to implement new courses into the technology education program. In 2005 the International Technology Education Association (ITEA-CATTS) has released the publication Invention and Innovation, A Standards-Based Middle School Model Course Guide. The purpose of the course is to provide middle school students with opportunities to apply the design process in the invention or innovation of a new product, process, or system. The technology teachers are provided with practical suggestions and information on how to successfully implement a new course into their technology education program. In the teaching of Invention and Innovation, teachers are encouraged to make purposeful content connections with other school subjects to give light to students' understanding of technology.
