- Abstract
The article presents a case of a 48-year old woman with splenic vein aneurysm (SVA). She was admitted to the hospital due to abdominal pain, distention and hemetemesis. SVA is an isolated abnormal saccular dilatation of the splenic vein. Portal hypertension and chronic liver disease are regarded as essential contributing factors in the development of the disease. The diagnosis of the disease can be made through ultrasonography.
