- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 65-year-old man infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1b who developed severe Legionella pneumophila pneumonia while receiving telaprevir-based triple therapy. It is noted that the patient did not achieve a sustained virologic response with pegylated interferon alfa (PegIFN)/ribavirin (RBV) therapy before he was started with triple anti-HCV therapy. The patient's symptoms and clinical assessments are discussed.
