The article talks about the use of anglicisms in Norwegian University students' speech. Topics discussed include the influence of the English language at the global level, the World Englishes sociolinguistic field of enquiry which investigates the contexts under which different dialects of English have emerged, and concerns over the spread of anglicisms being a manifestation of linguistic purism.
