The article discusses the means for library staff to move from culturally competent to culturally engaging. These include creating opportunities to learn on communities of color on a deeper and ongoing level, having programs where youth and families of color can take part in planning and providing feedback to libraries, and enhancing one's ability to see culture as an asset.
