- Abstract
The article presents a message from the President of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) in which she discusses YALSA's awards and lists. She comments on the effects of YALSA's Morris and Printz book awards of the success on the winning book "Were Things Come Back," by John Corey Whaley. She reports on the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting where selected lists were announced and a social media policy for YALSA was discussed. Also included is the author's suggestions for member involvement in YALSA awards and lists including reading YALSA's blog "The Hub," encouraging teens to vote on the Teen's Top Ten lists, and promoting lists and awards in libraries and schools.
