Vaginal delivery after myomectomy: challenges and opportunities.
- Authors
Ismail, Sharif I. M. F.; Bennett, S. J.
- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a pregnant patient who had a previous abdominal myomectomy for heavy uterine bleeding which made her anemic. The patient was admitted in spontaneous labor for nine days after her due date. She experienced difficulty in dilatation but insisted in vaginal delivery despite the third degree tear. It further discusses that pregnancy after myomectomy poses a number of risks including scar rupture and morbid placental attachment.
