- Abstract
A new type of magnetically easily separated CuFe2O4/palygorskite (CuFe2O4/Pal) is used to activate PMS to achieve efficient degradation of RhB. The effects of catalyst dosage, PMS concentration, initial pH value, and initial concentration of RhB on the degradation of RhB were investigated. The results showed that when the initial pH was 3.0, the RhB concentration was 10 mg/L, the catalyst dosage was 0.3 g/L, and the PMS concentration was 0.1 g/L, degradation for 120 minutes, and the degradation efficiency of RhB was 99.99%. The degradation of RhB by PMS activated by CuFe2O4/Pal conforms to the pseudo first-order kinetic model. The results of free radical quenching experiments show that in the CuFe2O4/Pal+PMS system, ¹O2 and O2·- are the main free radicals that degrade RhB. Stability analysis experiments show that the catalyst has good stability. After four cycles of use, the degradation efficiency of RhB can reach more than 91%.
