- Abstract
The article explores the founding in the summer of 1787 and disappearing in January 1788 of the village of San Carlos de los Jupes, located in current Colorado, destined to welcome the Comanche community. According to the article, the building of this village was initiated upon the request of the chief of the Comanche Paruanarimuco, helped by the governor of New Mexico Juan Bautista de Anza, who saw a political interest in this request. The author offers an analysis of the reasons why this village was a failure, based on ecological, cultural and geostrategical aspects.
