- Title
Engage, Embed, and Embellish: Theory Versus Practice in the Corporate Social Responsibility Movement.
- Authors
Conley, John M.; Williams, Cynthia A.
- Abstract
The article reflects on the emergence of the "corporate social responsibility" (CSR) movement. The CSR proponents have insisted that the legitimate concerns of a corporation should include such broader objectives as sustainable growth, equitable employment practices, and long-term social and environmental well-being. It gives focus not only to the shareholders in making decisions but also a variety of "stakeholder" constituencies.
