- Abstract
The distribution of electric field is analyzed by using electrodynamics theory when conductor balls of the same size are densely arranged on a plane electrode plate and charged by conduction・ The formulas for calculating the upper and lower limits of the charged quantity due to conduction of one of the conductor balls are derived. The relative error between the arithmetic mean value of the upper and lower limits of the charged quantity and the actual value is less than 6%・ The calculation of the quantity of electric charge brought by conducting and electrifying of the same size circular and elliptical conductor particles which are closely arranged in a single layer is discussed. The calculated results show that the charge on one of the conductor spheres in a single layer is about 1/6 of the charge on a single conductor sphere in a plane electrode plate, which indicates that the density of the conductor particles in a single layer has an obvious effect on the charge brought by conduction. This may be a research direction to improve the charge of conductor particles in electrostatic beneficiation.
