- Abstract
Documentation is crucial as it provides information of the community structure and diversity in the given area. In this study, our aim is to produce a checklist of macrofungi of Bangi Forest Reserves, Selangor, Peninsular Malaysia. Macrofungi were collected from the various substrates and identified up to family or genus levels. A total of 56 macrofungi specimens was enumerated comprise of 20 families, 37 genera and frequently found on dead branches. Polyporaceae was the most speciose represented by 12 genera and about 41% of the specimens. About 65% of the total specimens are represented by a single specimen. Hutan Pendidikan Alam recorded the highest diversity with a total of 15 families and 24 genera from 31 specimens followed by Taman Paku Pakis with 17 specimens from 7 families and 14 genera. Taman Herba recorded the least number of collection with two specimens. The family diversity index indicates high species richness and evenness of species with 3.40 and 0.96, respectively.
