- Abstract
This article discusses a case of a 61-year-old woman from a rural area in Sabah, Malaysia, who experienced symptoms of dyspnea, peripheral edema, paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea, and palpitation. The woman had previously been treated for disseminated tuberculosis 40 years ago. The article describes the patient's clinical examination, including the presence of specific physical signs of constrictive pericarditis. Imaging tests revealed calcification within the pericardium, indicating a marker of chronicity of the illness. The article emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and treatment to prevent long-term sequelae of tuberculosis pericarditis.
