The article discusses the 1892 mission of Mormon layperson Mary Ann Burnham Freeze to the San Juan Stake of the Mormon Church (LDS Church) in Utah and New Mexico. Excerpts from her diaries during the mission are presented. It is said that women played key roles in Mormon ordinances at the time. Her relation to women's suffrage advocacy is noted.
