- Abstract
A biography is presented for Lyman E. Johnson, an ex-Mormon disciple of the Mormon prophet Joseph Smith. It describes Johnson's missionary experiences and evangelistic work for the Church of Latter-Day Saints (LDS), his understanding of the original revelations shown to Smith and their theological interpretation, and his recruitment of soldiers to the 1834 Zion's Camp. His ordination to the Quorum of Twelve Apostles is discussed, along with his estrangement from Mormonism.
