- Title
What are the long-term consequences of botulinum toxin injections in spastic cerebral palsy?
- Authors
BARRETT, ROD S.
- Abstract
The author comments on a study which investigated the clinical role of botulinum toxin A (BoNT-A) injection, by Alhusaini and colleagues, published within the issue. He provides an overview of the study, which showed that BoNT-A is effective in the management of lower limb spasticity in children with spastic cerebral palsy (CP). He also describes the physiological effect of BoNT-A. The author concludes that further studies are needed to understand the clinical significance of BoNT-A.
