- Abstract
With the aim to representing the variations of SOC (soil organic carbon) spatially, influenced by climate change predicted for the western region of Cuba at 2050 year, were taken two scenarios simulated with carbon dynamics model RothC26.3, parameterized and validated with long-term experiments in a Ferralsol planted with sugarcane crop from 1981 to 2010 in Jovellanos, Matanzas province. The area is characterized by annual rainfall between 1.400 and 1.600 mm, monthly average temperature of 24,1±2,3o C, average annual evaporation 1381,8±27,8 mm with a dry season from November to April and a rainy period from May to October. Model simulation of COS for the period 1981-2010 belonging to current climate and climate change predicted for 2050, combined with a GIS, resulted that climatic change will have a more negative impact on the COS compared to the current climate, verified in the reduction of areas Rico and Muy Rico carbon categories in 80 years, spatially represented by Voronoi method.
