- Abstract
C&E is a technique considered to be simpler, faster, and less resource-consuming compared to conventional surgery.[1] However, as a result of the fact that it cannot adequately assess the tumor margins and cannot perform a deep exeresis, the best indication for C&E is discussed. There is a paucity of randomized clinical trials comparing the two main techniques used to treat low-risk basal cell carcinoma (BCC): conventional surgery, and curettage and electrocoagulation (C&E).[1] In this regard, we conducted an open, parallel, and randomized clinical trial comparing these techniques, with a follow-up of 2 years. We compared C&E treatments with conventional surgery in terms of recurrence rates in patients with low-risk BCC up to 10 mm in diameter.
