- Abstract
The article presents information on the compensation characteristics of active power filter using multiseries voltage source PWM converters. The active filter currently under study solves all the difficulties [2 - 6 ]. Recent remarkable progress in high speed (switching time of several microseconds) switching elements such as power transistor (1200 V, 300 A) and static induction thyristor (2500 V, 1000 A) has made it possible to construct the active filters. Generally speaking, the switching frequency and dc condenser voltage have direct effect on the compensation characteristics.
