- Abstract
The article presents a study which examined the response of vertebrates to burn severity, fire surrogates, and combined fire and fire surrogate treatments in fire-prone forests in the U.S. The study estimated the effect sizes and the confidence limits of each species-by-treatment combination. Result shows that high-severity fire leads to stronger responses, wherein most species posess higher or lower effect sizes in relation to fires of lower severity.
