- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's publication of proposed guidelines that would formalize heightened supervisory expectations for large insured national banks, federal savings associations, and federal branches of foreign banks in America. The safety and soundness standards contained in Section 39 of the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Act are mentioned, along with guidelines for establishing standards for residential mortgage lending practices.
