- Abstract
The article discusses the benefits of physical activity in children including improved body composition, academic performance and self-esteem while in youths include risk reduction of noncommunicable chronic diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. It notes the risks of physical activity in youth including concussive injuries, trauma and musculoskeletal system immaturity. It also highlights the guidelines for physical activity including the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.
