- Title
Haiko Wandhoff, Vom Finden der Liebe in der Literatur. Die erzählte Poetik des höfischen Romans. Corlin, Hamburg 2021. 372 S., € 35,–.
- Authors
Andersen, Elizabeth
- Abstract
Parzival, Wandhoff finds, is not so much about the nature of the Grail company as the ideal centre of the romance as it is about the distortion of the adventure of the Grail by a love spell. In his analysis of Heinrich von Veldeke's Eneas, Wandhoff identifies the co-ordinates upon which the narrative framework of the subsequent courtly romances is predicated. Throughout the book, Wandhoff highlights in his close reading of these texts the fundamental integration of two compositional levels, the narrative action and the act of narration.
