- Title
A Maritime Demarcation Dispute on the Yellow Sea Republic of Korea.
- Authors
Kim Young-koo
- Abstract
The article reports on the dispute between North Korea and South Korea regarding the Northern Limit Line (NLL), the demarcation line on the Yellow Sea. The NLL was presented by the United Nations Command after the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. It states that South Korea and North Korea made the Armistice Agreement, which required the two parties not to pass the NLL. However, from October to November 1973, North Korea entered the line over 43 times. The validity of the agreement turned into an issue of dispute because of the violation committed by North Korea.
