The article focuses on the decision of the U.S. District Court for the North District of California in the case Richards v. Kiken wherein plaintiff Katherine Richardson Richards on a complaint with a demand for a trial by jury on all issues against defendant Michael S. Kiken. It mentions Kiken breached his fiduciary duty to her by using his own sperm, without her knowledge or consent, to impregnate her rather than the sperm of an anonymous donor that he had promised to use.
