CLIMATE AND DISEASE - NOT MUCH OF A LINK ANYMORE.
- Authors
Bate, Roger
- Abstract
The article presents the author's insights regarding insignificance of climate change in spread of diseases. The author states that the concept of Malaria as a "tropical infection" is nonsense. It mentions that malaria rates increased due to various reasons including population growth, deforestation, and rice cultivation. It adds that in 2007, the World Health Organization (WHO) misdiagnosed the problem concerning the origin of the "Chikungunya" mosquito-borne virus in Italy.
