- Abstract
The article discusses several research on the role of anaerobes and fungi in the removal of pollutants. The biology of Dehalococcoides spp. was examined in line with its ability to anaerobically transform chlorinated xenobiotics to less- or even non-noxious derivatives through reductive dechlorination. A report relates the discovery of four Halodehalogenases (HAD) defluorinases from different microbial genomes. A research explored the genetic regulation of the ribose catabolic pathway in Biofidobacterium breve UCC2003.
