- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which examined the effect of enoxaparin on monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP-1) levels in a specific population with highly accelerated atherosclerosis, such as patients undergoing maintenance haemodialysis (HD). Enoxaparin is a low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) with pleiotropic effects. The researchers used enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits from R&D Systems Inc. to determine plasma MCP-1 levels in seventeen HD patients.
