- Abstract
An editorial is presented, in which the author discusses hemodynamic hallmarks of sepsis are arterial vasodilatation and increased capillary permeability. It mentions fluid shift from the intravascular space together with the decrease in systemic vascular resistance and altered ventricular performance. It also discusses reassessment of fluid responsiveness to optimize resuscitate patients with severe sepsis and septic shock.
