- Abstract
This article discusses the traditional celebrations in Ocaña in the province of Toledo, Spain during the reign of Carlos I in the 16th century. It examines various types of games and activities, including those that were prohibited, those that were merely tolerated, and those that were allowed. The author analyzes the traditions of bullfighting, ball games, and jousting, as well as the prevalence of brothels in the region during times of diversion and celebration. He also studies the festival of Corpus Christi, a feast day honoring the body of Christ.
