The article reports on the application of open reading frames (ORF) in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe (S. pombe). A library of S. pombe ORF referred to be as the predicted protein coding regions of the genome had been established. Hence, the intracellular localization of almost all predicted proteins of the yeast had been identified along with the chemical genetic screen used for the proper protein localization.
