The article discusses the attitudes and emotions of American judges as of October 2012, focusing on the potential impact of judicial anger against attorneys, parties, and witnesses on the integrity of the U.S. legal system. Angry behavior by judges is addressed in relation to Chief Judge Edith Jones of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and judicial decisionmaking. Other topics include human emotion studies, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and modern psychology.
