- Abstract
The article discusses the limitations of patent laws and legislation in context of current proteomics revolution. Every legal system has the capacity for betterment, and the Patent Act has been applied over two centuries to consolidate many diverse fields and issues. The courts have been very adept at representing and rerepresenting statutory language to accommodate emerging technologies, such as the shift towards an research in the field of genomics and proteomics; and, for the most part, the useful arts have adapted well in response to the changing requirements.
