- Abstract
During the decade following the First World War, several amateur theatre groups appeared which, claiming inspiration from the thought of Jacques Copeau, attempted to revitalize dramatic art, by offering a theatre that distanced itself from commercial theatre and embraced a certain community spirit. In 1923, the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Society set up Soirées de famille, with the aim of bringing these troupes together on the stage of the Monument-National. The event makes it possible to identify and compare the various projects then brought together under the generic name of « Jeune Scène ».
