- Title
El devenir de la historiografía moderna en España durante el siglo XVIII: aportaciones de José Cornide.
- Authors
Piñeiro Rivas, Carlos
- Abstract
The eighteenth century historians made some small changes in the research of past events using auxiliary sciences which flourished in that century like epigraphy, bibliography, archeology and so on. The new rational and empirical methods had their origen in the decade of the reinaissance humanism, growing up with the new currents which appeared in the XVII century and finished in the enlightened ideas; these currents will provide new concepts and proposals to Europe in the XVIII century. In this context the figure of the egregious José Cornide appeared. He was a pioneer in the development of these changes in our country and he was also one of the most influential authors at that time.
