- Abstract
This article discusses the efficacy of dupilumab in the treatment of palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP), a chronic skin disease characterized by pustules and scaling on the palms and soles. The study found that dupilumab, an antibody that targets IL-4Rα and inhibits IL-4 and IL-13 signaling, was effective in treating PPP in a group of 10 Asian Chinese patients. The patients achieved significant improvement in their symptoms, with no recurrence of disease flare or adverse events. The study also identified serum biomarkers associated with PPP that were similar to those found in atopic dermatitis and psoriasis patients. Further research is needed to better understand the pathogenesis of PPP and guide its diagnosis and treatment.
